Founded by the late Reverend Harvey Savage, the Kitchen for the Poor's first home was located in the heart of Toledo's African American business community -- on Dorr Street --  as the picture demonstrates.

Today, not without struggle, the Kitchen for the Poor continues to serve the undernourished and underprivileged.
